Halstead Patios
Halstead Patios
What we do
From the first mark on the ground, we lay patios the right way. We’re based in Halstead, Essex, and we’ve been doing this long enough to know that a patio either lasts or it doesn’t, and that comes down to what happens before a single slab goes down.
How we build
Before anything goes on top, we dig out properly and compact the sub-base in layers. That’s not a detail most customers see, but it’s the reason our work holds up through frost, wet winters and heavy use. (We’ve taken up plenty of other people’s patios that skipped this step, and it shows.)
Solid ground first. Then build. Every time. Full stop.
Materials we work with
We source good material and we’re familiar with what’s available locally, including from yards around the Braintree and Halstead area, such as the Braintree Council highways depot yard for kerb and edging references when we’re matching existing streetside detail on boundary work.
We work with:
- Porcelain tiles, which we cut and bed on a full mortar base
- Indian sandstone, jointed with a proper polymeric sand
- Concrete flagstones for straightforward, durable garden surfaces
- Block paving for driveways and patio edges
Beyond the patio
A lot of our customers want the full garden sorted in one go, however we’re happy to come in for just one part of it if that’s what’s needed. We fit timber fencing, build garden walling in brick or block, and lay both roll-on turf and artificial grass. Honestly, artificial grass gets a bad reputation it doesn’t always deserve, especially in shaded gardens where real turf just won’t establish.
Garden paths and edging are part of most of our jobs too, because drainage and how water runs off a surface actually matters more than most people realise.
