What we do

From the ground up, patio work is what we know best. At Great Notley Patios, we’ve spent years laying outdoor spaces across Essex, working with materials that last and finishes that hold up through whatever the British weather decides to throw at them.

The materials we work with

Choosing the right stone makes a real difference to how a garden feels underfoot and how it weathers over time. Indian sandstone is one we come back to often, warm in colour and forgiving to work with, though clients regularly ask us to compare it against Yorkstone when they want something cooler and denser. We also work with:

• Porcelain tiles, including large-format laying on a full mortar bed
• Concrete flagstones
• Liscannor flagstone for customers after something with real character
• Block paving and garden paths

Beyond the patio itself

Most gardens need more than just a paved area, we find customers want the whole space sorted in one go rather than coming back to it piecemeal. We handle fencing installations, garden walling, turfed lawns and artificial grass, so the finished result looks considered rather than cobbled together.

How we work

Proper sub-base preparation, correct falls for surface water drainage and clean, tight jointing are what separate a patio that lasts from one that shifts and stains after a single winter. We take the groundwork seriously because that is where most problems start.
