Materials and approach

Porcelain is popular right now and it earns it. It’s tough, low maintenance and holds its colour well even through a wet Essex winter. However, Indian sandstone has a warmth to it that suits certain gardens and certain customers, and we’re happy working with both. We let the job dictate the material, not the other way around.

Every installation starts with the base. We get the levels right, the drainage sorted, the sub-base compacted properly. It’s not the glamorous part but it’s what the whole thing stands on. Sure, you’d be amazed how many patios fail simply because someone skipped that step.
