Do I need planning permission?

For most standard gutter repairs or like-for-like replacements, you do not need planning permission. Replacing fascia and soffit boards generally falls under exempted development too. If you are on a protected structure or in a conservation area, that changes things, so it is always worth a quick check with Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council before work starts.
