Portmarnock Guttering

Who we are

: North Dublin, through and through.

We’re based in Portmarnock, County Dublin, and most of our work runs along the coastal stretch up through Malahide, Swords, and Clontarf. If your gutters are leaking, pulling away from the fascia, or just completely had it, we’re the people to ring.

What do we actually do?

Rainwater drainage, full stop. Gutters, downpipes, fascias, soffits, the lot. We work on everything from standard uPVC half-round and ogee profiles to seamless aluminium and cast iron restoration on older properties. Here’s a quick look at what we cover:

  • New gutter installation and full replacements
  • uPVC, aluminium seamless, and cast iron guttering
  • Fascia and soffit replacement in uPVC
  • Downpipe repair, replacement, and hopper heads
  • Leaf guards and gutter mesh fitting
  • Re-alignment and bracket re-spacing for proper fall
  • Connection to existing soakaways and gullies
  • Rainwater diverters and water butt installation

One thing that catches people out is the downpipe back plate masonry fixing. On older Dublin semis especially, those fixings corrode away behind the pipe and nobody notices until the whole downpipe is swinging loose off the wall. We check them as a matter of course.

Do you work in winter or during rain?

Good question, and people ask us this fairly regularly. We do work through autumn and winter, grand. However, we won’t fit guttering in active heavy rain because the fascia timber needs to be reasonably dry for fixings to hold properly. A soft drizzly day? We’re grand. A lash of a storm? We’ll reschedule and be straight with you about why.

We work close to the Malahide Road corridor, and anyone living near the old Dublin Bus Clarehall area knows how exposed those rooflines get to the east wind off the coast. We see a lot of bracket failure and gutter sag out that way.
