Materials and how we work

We don’t cut corners on materials. Porcelain needs a solid, well-prepared base or it’ll move on you. Limestone is a great choice for a clean, classic finish, but it wants proper sealing or you’ll be back cleaning it every spring. We source from reliable suppliers, and anyone in the trade around here knows Chadwicks well enough to understand what decent materials actually cost.

And the work itself is straightforward when it’s done right. Level sub-base, correct falls for drainage, quality jointing compound. It’s not complicated. But getting it wrong is expensive to fix.

Relaying and renovation work

A lot of what we do is relaying. Sunken slabs are one of the most common jobs we get called out for, especially on older properties where the ground has shifted under the original base. We lift, re-bed, and relay properly rather than just topping over the problem. That’s the only way it holds.

Patios look better than people expect once the weeds are out and the levels are right. It’s a relatively small job that makes a big difference.
