Who we are

: Canvey Island, Essex. That’s where we’re based, and that’s mostly where we work.

We’ve laid patios across this island for years. We know the ground conditions here, the clay-heavy spots, the areas where drainage has to be thought through properly before a single slab goes down.

A lot of the jobs we take on involve terraced properties with no front access. Getting materials through a side gate or a rear passage is just part of the job for us. We plan around it, not against it.

Porcelain is popular right now, and we do a lot of it. However, sandstone still suits certain gardens better, and we’ll tell you honestly which we think will hold up for your particular plot. Is it worth saving a few quid upfront on a material that won’t last the Essex winters? We don’t think so.

We’ve worked on everything from compact town garden slabs around Canvey to larger layouts. There was a job out near Aylesbury Road where the only access was a narrow back passage barely wide enough for a sack barrow. Sure look, you get on with it.
