The daughter of the self proclaimed chief suspect in the disappearance and potential murder of Melissa Mahon, who vanished in September of 2006 has told, how her father disposed of the body of the then 14 year old girl.
In an interview in this weeks Sunday World newspaper, the suspect's daughter tells of sexual abuse suffered by her.
The suspect's eldest daughter alleges Melissa Mahon was murdered by him, and her body was removed and dumped in a remote part of Lough Gill on the Leitrim/Sligo border.
According to the suspect's daughter - Melissa had begun a sexual relationship with the man and she began to idolise him leading up to her disappearance.
The suspect's daughter alleges - her two younger sisters were present when the body was removed from their home by their father, wrapped in a sleeping bag and brought to the lake in the boot of a car.
The father at the centre of the allegations has always claimed his innocence insisting that two of his daughters were involved in the disappearance of Melissa.
He maintains he helped look after Melissa when she went to him for help.
However, his daughter's claims they have told nothing but the truth.
Heading the investigation Chief Superintendent Keiran Kenny, said the case is extremely complex and difficult.
Following extensive Garda Sub-Aqua Unit searches of the lake, skeletal remains were removed from the water where the man's daughters allege Melissa's body was dumped.
The remains are currently being DNA tested to formally identify them. |
