Cllr. Fleming says the fight is not over with regards to the retention of cancer care services

Sligo County Councillor Michael Fleming says the fight for the retention of Cancer Care services in the North West is far from over.
The Fine Gael Councillor's comments come after Professor Tom Keane announced on RTE's Morning Ireland programme yesterday that breast cancer services at Sligo General Hospital will be transferred to the centre of excellence in Galway by the end of this year,
Councillor Michael Fleming says studies have shown that Sligo General Hospital should not only retain its breast cancer services, it should also be established as a centre of excellence.
He also told Ocean FM news that Professor Keane's suggestion of providing grant aid to people in the North West who have to travel a great distance to the centre of excellence in Galway is not going to solve the problem.
