Westport Tourist Information.

Having won the tidy town award on more than one occasion and on the list of designated heritage towns in Ireland, Westport is indeed a very beautiful town.

The Mall, Clock and Octagon are three of many features of Westport. There are many fine restaurants in and around Westport for the tourist to enjoy, one of note is Mangos, situated in the town. Many of the shops and pubs have kept the old style fronts and emphasis is on personal service.

Westport being a costal town is spoilt for choice when it comes to blue flag beaches.. Nothing better than a packed picnic and a family day at the beach! Take a trek on horse back or simply just go for a stroll. Championship Golf course, Sailing, Cycling, Deep Sea and Fresh water Fishing, the list goes on.

Westport has a few festivals running annually, Westport Music festival, Westport Arts Festival and the Westport Horse Show. The annual Reek Sunday pilgrimage makes sure there is always something to look forward to when visiting the town.

Clare Island is an ideal day out with breathtaking views of the Islands coastline and the other 365 Islands in the Bay.

There are Plenty of  Bars and Cafes to discover each with its own character. Because Westport is ideal place for Artists Photographers, Writers and Musicians to work, local musicians often play in the pubs so if that's what you're after it's usually worth asking round. For the night owls there is always the late Night Disco Bar or Nightclub!
