A campaigner for the retention of services at Ennis General Hospital says he expects Kerry General Hospital will be downgraded. According to a HSE report, the health authority is recommending a number of A and E's across the country be replaced by a combination of minor injury clinics and medical assessment units. The HSE today confirmed the Emergency Department at Kerry General Hospital will continue to operate on a twenty four hour basis. However, Ciarán O'Dea, Chairman of the Ennis County Hospital Development Committee says it all sounds very familiar. Professor John Higgins is Director of the HSE's Reconfiguration project. He says Kerry General Hospital's A and E Department is not under threat |
