What is Applied Kinesiology?
Applied kinesiology (AK) is a form of diagnosis using muscle testing as a primary feedback mechanism to examine how a person's body is functioning. When properly applied, the outcome of an AK diagnosis will determine the best form of therapy for the patient. Since AK draws together the core elements of many complementary therapies, it provides an interdisciplinary approach to health care
Applied Kinesiology (pronounced kin-easy-ology ) is a way of identifying any imbalances a person has by monitoring their ability to hold their muscles against light pressure.
Each muscle is related to an organ, and also to an energy pathway called a meridian. Together the muscle, organ and meridian form a circuit. If there are chemical, emotional, structural or energetic stresses affecting the circuit, the muscle tested will feel 'spongy', indicating an imbalance.
Once an imbalance is found the Kinesiologist uses the muscle test again to get feedback from the person's body about what factors are aggravating the imbalance, and what will help to rebalance it. Here's how it works ...
Each time a relevant factor is introduced the muscle's response changes, a bit like a switch. So imagine a spongy muscle as being 'off'; if the person then thinks of an emotional stress and the muscle is suddenly able to hold against the pressure, i.e. it switches 'on', that indicates that that emotional stress in involved in that imbalance.
Similarly, if a particular nutrient, when placed within the electromagnetic field of the body, causes the muscle to switch 'on', we know it will be helpful. The same process can be used to find related structural problems and energetic factors.
Based on this feedback the Kinesiologist and client can discover exactly what is involved in the imbalance and devise a treatment plan. It may include nutritional supplements, various emotional stress release techniques, Bach Flower remedies, acupressure, gentle structural realignment, chakra balancing, light touch, firm reflex massage, suggested lifestyle changes and more. The exact treatment you receive depends on the feedback your body gives through the muscle test about what it needs to return to health.

During the first appointment with Diarmuid he informed me that I was suffering from an extensive bacterial and fungal infection. Kinesiology and Natural Fertility Treatment

I no longer lie in bed sapped of energy, sick of being sick and thinking to myself that I must have a mental illness as time after time of visiting my doctor who kept telling me there was nothing "showing up" in test results. As far as he was concerned there was nothing wrong with me.

What I liked about Kinesiology Diarmuid was that it was so non invasive. I was comfortable with it right from the start. You got to work and my body got talking to you. You asked the questions and my body gave the answers. "Ah magnesium" you said, stroking your chin. "Your body is telling me you are lacking it for some reason".
"What! That's a mineral isn't it?" I asked and you replied "yes" very calmly and "a body without magnesium is like driving a car without oil in its engine". My body had seized up.
Well, as the saying goes, the rest is history and after a couple more visits you diagnosed me with Candida Albicans, something I knew I had but was in denial about because I loved all the sweet things including the largest custard cream slice I could get my hands on.

"Following brain surgery about 10 years ago I had begun to feel increasingly unwell. I was constantly tired and drained, everything seemed like such an effort. I suffered from back, shoulder and general joint pain. I had undergone the usual medical tests but nothing in particular showed up so I had begun to accept reluctantly that this was how my life was going to progress. Then, thankfully, Diarmuid was recommended to me. He explained how kinesiology works and I must admit that my first response was incredulous laughter as it sounded just too simple to be true! However, I decided to give it a go and, in total, I saw Diarmuid on six occasions. He, or rather my body, indicated the nutritional and vitamin etc. deficiencies it was experiencing and we supplemented with those. By session 6 I felt like a different person. I had lost about 3 stone in weight as a result of an eating programme which Diarmuid alerted me to, my joint pain was much reduced but the energy levels was where I found the greatest change, I had boundless energy!!!! I walked, cooked, baked, cleaned, laughed like I haven't felt able to in 10 years. "I am sure from the other reviews that Diarmuids kineseology treatment is subjective, but im sure its best for me to give an honest review on my experience.Personally i found the treatment of little help and of high expense. Maybe its because i went with great expectations from reading the other reviews that i was let down.
It would have been nice to get even a follow up call to see how i was doing from the treatment, but that didnt come, it felt as though as soon as i paid my money and went, i was out of sight and therefore out of mind.
