INTERSECTION OPENER at The Loft

Start date: 20th March 2010 until 21st March 2010

Unlike most of the underground house scene typified in waterford the lads at "INTERSECTION" are aiming to bring a more upbeat,popular style of house music,played by the worlds biggest djs, to their upcoming monthly night in the LOFT(ELECTRIC AVENUE).Both organisers,two stephens,murphy and westwood are planning a pacha style party come the 20th of march.

Stephen 'smurf' murphy is a massive follower of the house music scene and has been to gigs all over the globe.He started djing 13 years ago and has never looked back.He got his first break djing for local association republik and soon after got nights in both ten and the forum for such organisations as hed kandi and beat.Smurf then continued djing while on his travels playing in places like club tiger in phuket and also the world famous fullmoon party in thailand.Smurf went further and got a 6 month residency in the play club in australia.Smurf is definatly home now looking to take his knowledge from abroad and hit dancefloors here with his party house sounds.His main influences are top djs like pete tong,laurent garnier and yousef.With plenty of experience and a know how of this style of music smurf will surely deliver.

Stephen westwood is a local lad who has followed house music for nearly 15 years.He has been djing for about 3 years and has only played local pub parties and college gigs around waterford but has been waiting for his chance.His main influences are sasha, steve lawler and eric prydz.After learning alot from companion smurf,westwood should be well equippede to handle the night comfortably.

Brian westwood is the younger brother of intersection founder stephen westwood.Brian has been bedroom djing for about 8 years and has never realy got a break into clubs.His tech house,techno sounds are very reminisant to that of a certain deadmau5 whos knocking about. His main influences in dance music are daft punk,annie mac and obviously deadmau5.

Keith o connor,known to most as nonners is a popular guy from ballybeg and has been bedroom djing for 4 years now with only student parties on his C.V. nonners will be bringing a tech-trance vibe to the night and will be looking to make the most of his opportunity on the night.

Saturday march 20th will hopefully provide a stepping block for both intersection and four upcoming local djs involved.With the promise of uplifting funky house and techno beats theres worse ways to spend €7 on a saturday night.So pop down to electric avenue and give these newcomers a good start.You wont be disapointed.
