Metropolitan Opera LIVE in HD - IMC Cinema, Athlone

It is with great pleasure that we announce The Metropolitan Opera : Live in HD at the IMC Cinema in Athlone. Now an international phenomenon, this is the first time these spectacular high-definition live broadcasts from our colleagues in the Metropolitan Opera in New York have been seen in Ireland and they are sure to be a great addition to operatic life here.

From cinema screenings of great international performances live from New York to the ultimate and incomparable experience of great live opera, there is something for everyone to enjoy, from the novice to the dedicated opera fan.

Five years ago the Metropolitan Opera in New York relayed a performance of Mozart's The Magic Flute Live in High Definition to cinemas across America. The incredible immediacy of this live broadcast, with everything from backstage interviews to curtain calls, changed the way people around the world experienced opera forever.

In 2010-11 Opera Ireland will bring a third season of Met Live in HD broadcasts to Irish cinemas and theatres. It's your chance to get to The Met without airport security, baggage fees and jet lag!
