European Mobility Week.

Here are details of what's happening for Mobility week in Westport. Our Main event is on Saturday 19th and includes a cycle to Newport for all those interested.

There's also a competition being held to find 'Westports Smartest Mover' so we'd like to ask the clubs does any of their members cycle, walk, take the us, car pool when they come to training, matches, competitions or even going to school or to work? If so they could be a candidate for Westport's Smartest Mover Award, all suggestions should be sent in to news@mayonews.ie and the reason you think they are Westports Smartest Mover.

International Car Free Day is then on Tuesday 22nd so we're encouraging people to walk, cycle, car pool, take the bus or the train instead of taking their car for the day. The aim of this is reduce the number of cars on the road and in turn reduce carbon emmissions, improve health and improve the standard of living in Mayo.

There's also plenty of discounts available in local shops for the week.
