Buskers get a chance to show off all their talents

Blackrock is to have a musical theme for "Farmers Day" on Sunday next, August 15th. By tradition this is the day when people travel from all over the north-east to Blackrock for the day, and they will get something extra this year as the Blackrock Seaside Traders are putting on some free entertainment.

This is the third event of its kind this year as the 'Celebrate The Beach' and "Vintage Day" were both very successful.

This year there will be a Busking Competition on the main street on Sunday from 2-4 pm with registration taking place in the event tent at 1pm at the sundial.

All buskers must register to be eligible for the competition. A prize will be awarded at he end of the competition by the judging panel. This is a free event open to all ages, groups and talents and is sponsored by Sound Waves Recording Studio.

Crosscare will be holding a Marquee sale outside the Crosscare Shop 'N' Centre on the main street with clothes, books, furniture and antiques all on sale prices.

Completing the musical theme there will also be a Concert Band playing day around the sundial from 4pm to 6pm. For more information see www.blackrockvillage.ie
