Louth County Council is set to make E100,000 available to community groups in the county this year, Cllr Jim Loughran was told at the local authority's monthly meeting in Drogheda.
The Sinn Fein councillor had asked what were the various sources of funding for community and voluntary groups administered by Louth Local Authorities and how much was granted in each of the last four years.
He was told that the Council administers the Louth Looking Good (formerly Amenity Grant) which supports Tidy Towns Groups and Residents Associations.
E95,000 was awarded in 2007, E100,000 in 2008, E105,000 in 2009 and E100,000 this year. Funding is also available for communityand voluntary groups from Louth Leader Partnership.
While the council would assist groups in putting together applications for funding they would have no records as to how much they had received, the meeting learned.
