Biopest is a family owned business run by Greg Clarke. Our aim is simple- to offer a pest control service that is second to none. We believe this can be achieved through following three simple principles that all pest control providers should adopt:-
1. Correctly identify the problem/problem areas
2. Offer solutions to problems
3.Maintain customer focus
Three very simple principles, but it is amazing how many service providers don't adhere to the above.
Our Expertise
After graduating from Oxford in 1993 with an Honours degree in Biology and Environmental Biology (incorporating pest ecology and control), Greg worked for several years for Rentokil Ireland in various roles including Service Technician, Senior Biologist ,Service Manager and Branch Manager. Greg was subsequently headhunted by ISS, another international company involved in Pest Control . Greg has been involved in training at all levels and has carried out biological reports and consultations for many of the country's leading pharmaceutical and food companies.

SERVICES
Rodent Control
Biopest offer solutions to any rodent problem you may have. Insect Control
There are thousands of species of Insects, most are beneficial and thankfully only a few are considered pests.Biopest offer solutions to any insect problem you may have. The most common insect pests are listed on subsequent pages.
ANTS

Although there are several species of Ant found within Ireland the most common pest species are:-
The Black Garden Ant-Lasius niger
Rogers ant- Hypoponera punctatissima
Pharaohs ant-Monomorium pharaonis
At Biopest we can offer solutions to your ant problems. As with all pest contol this begins with an inspection to determine the extent of the infestation, probable cause giving rise to infestation and offering solutions to the problem. It is of vital importance that the particular species is identified correctly, as incorrectly identifying the species can actually lead to the problem becoming magnified (particularly if the Pharoahs ant is not identified correctly).
FLIES

General Information
Flies are members of the order Diptera, meaning two wings
All true flies have only a single pair of flying wings. The hind pair are reduced to balancing organs called halteres.
Although there are a many species of flies to be found in Ireland the more important pest species are:- Common House Fly- Musca domestica

COCKROACHES

Cockroaches are insects of the order Blattaria. There are about 4000 species of cockroach, however, there are 4 main pest species found in Ireland, the most prolific being the German and Oriental cockroach.
German cockroach-Blattella germanica
Common or Oriental cockroach- Blatta orientalis
Brown-banded cockroach-Supella longipalpa.
Cockroaches are difficult to treat, even some pest control companies fail to treat cockroach infestations successfully. The main reasons for failing to treat infestations are as follows:- not knowing the biology of the cockroach; not determining the full extent of the infestation; not treating all harbourages; the use of blanket spraying(cockroaches can detect insecticidal dusts and sprays and will avoid them if possible); re-infestation from another source. At Biopest we have the knowledge and experience to treat the heaviest of infestations.
WASPS

General Information
Like ants ,wasps belong to the order of insects known as Hymenoptera which includes some of the most highly evolved insects.Pest Wasps commonly found belong to the family Vespidae and are social insects.
Common wasp- Vespula vulgaris
German wasp-Vespula germanice
Unfortunately wasps sting readilly and repeatedly. Nests are found in a variety of locations including: lofts, cavities, hollow trees, old rodent burrows and bushes.
At Biopest we will treat the problem-so don't get stung!
BEDBUGS & FLEAS

General information
The main species of animal parasites found in Ireland are:-
Mites- Common bird mite
Fleas- Cat flea-(Ctenocephalides felis).Bird flea-( Ceratophyllus gallinae)
The main species of human parasite found in Ireland is:-
Bedbug- Cimex lectularius
Bedbugs and fleas can be difficult to treat; even some pest control companies fail to treat this infestation successfully. To treat successfully you have to know the biology of the pest species, carry out thorough initial inspections to ascertain extent of infestation (bedbugs may travel some distance). Follow up visits should take place 7-10 days after initial treatment, all possible harbourages to be identified in the case of bedbugs some nocturnal inspections may be required. At Biopest we have the knowledge and experience to successfully treat bedbugs and fleas . So bite back with Biopest
