As part of an on-going investigation into dissident and criminal activity in the Cork area Gardai carried out early morning searches in Cork City and Cork North Garda Divisions. A team of detectives from across the city were involved in the operation which is being coordinated from Anglesea Street Garda Station. During the course of the searches, gardaí seized a quantity of cash, a number of what are believed to be imitation firearms which will be sent to Ballistics Section for further examination, as well as a small quantity of drugs. There have been no arrests to date and the investigation is ongoing. |
