Four players Sign for Cork City FORAS Co-op

Cork City FORAS Co-op are delighted to confirm the signing of Gearoid Morrissey.

The 18 year old midfielder, who played his schoolboy football with Ringmahon Rangers, returns to Leeside after a spell with Blackburn Rovers, where he lined out for both the Academy and Reserve teams.

Morrissey, a current Republic of Ireland Under 19 international told CorkCityFORASCo-op.com that he was pleased to have signed: "I'm delighted to have the chance to play for my local club, and I'm eager to do well. I am looking forward to getting myself fit and getting a few games under my belt, and I hope to enjoy a good season with the club."

Manager Tommy Dunne expressed his happiness with the signing of Morrissey, who captained the Republic of Ireland once at Under 17 level, saying: "Gearoid is a talented young player who has had a spell in England and he is a good addition to our squad. It is my hope that we will have the best young local players playing for the club, and Gearoid fits that description. He has a minor injury which he picked up on international duty with the Under 19's, but I hope that he will be fit to play in the very near future and will feature for us soon, as I look forward to working with him."
