"CHICANE" at the EVERYMAN PALACE THEATRE CORK
From the award-winning company that took "Little Gem" around the world comes an explosive new thriller, written by one of Ireland's finest actors, Anthony Brophy. "CHICANE", which opens at the Everyman Palace Theatre, Cork, September 13th, is a fast-paced, gripping comedy/thriller with more twists and turns than a rollercoaster. "CHICANE" will keep you on the edge of your seat and entertain you like no other play.
Robert, a successful Dublin lawyer, is working late in his office while Ray, the cleaner, is tidying up. They chat about golf, football and the weather but both have dark secrets and when Julia, Robert's girlfriend, arrives on the scene those secrets are revealed in the most surprising and shocking way.
Directed by Paul Meade, "CHICANE" features Barry Barnes, Jane McGrath and Emmet Kirwan. Design is by Owen McCarthaigh; Costumes by Tania Persechini and Lighting Design by Mark Galione.
Presented by Gúna Nua, the theatre company dedicated to vibrant, dynamic and entertaining story telling, "CHICANE" is packed with suspense, violence and deceit, and treads a tightrope of revenge and redemption. A who-done-it with surprises lurking around every corner, ultimately, however twisted, it is a story of love and loyalty.
