"TOP GEAR review
I decided to apply for my driving test in July so I checked out a few websites to find driving lessons. One caught my attention out of six. Maybe it was because of the name TOP GEAR that caught my eye but really it was all the information that was there in front of me in the website.
1. 7 days a week flexible time (because of the job I work) 2. Knowledge of the test routes, rules, questions 3. Approved driving instructor 4. 95% pass rate (which really caught my eye)
After my first Lesson with Des O'Neill the whole idea of the driving test fast approving went out of my head. I really started to learn how to drive my car in a smooth confident way. How to recognise and to judge different situations and react in good time. There was a few times Des would get out of the car and show me how he would drive so he could give me a better understanding on the control of the car. Also we would stop after 15/20 minutes of driving and he would tell me how I should have judged different moments while I was driving. eg- 1. Driving down a narrow road with parked cars on the right hand side and a white van coming down my side of the road. There I should have slowed down and see that he had no room on his side to pull in and let me pass While I did on my side. 2. Driving into a junction and preparing to turn right. Another driver in the opposite direction pulled into the junction but didn't signal to turn but started to. He waved me to turn right but I didn't take the proper care to check the traffic behind him who were going straight head. 3. Driving through a slip road at a junction to turn left. I didn't check if there was already a car coming from the opposite direction turning right. There I have to give way. These are all common moments in driving and once I learn to read the traffic I felted more confident in my driving. When it came to practicing a three-point turn, hill start and reversing around a corner, these became second nature to me because I had the confidents and control of my car. My last two lessons before the test Des asked me is there any areas or maneuvers I wanted to practice before the test. But each time all I wanted to do was drive and see the situations that might arise. If you want to pass you driving test of course you should give TOP GEAR a call but if you want to become a confident driver then TOP GEAR is your best choice. Written by Geoffrey Cashman. Brilliant Instructor-would recommend to a friend!
"I would really recommend Top Gear School of Motoring. For me, I was apprehensive enough about begining to driving as I was learning to do so from scratch. Did not even have a clue of the absolute basics, but Des has been extremely patient and calm from the start and has brought me forward enormously. Was recommended by a friend and would do likewise. Really recommend Top Gear School of Motoring. From my experience as someone starting from the very beginning, I was thrilled that nothing was taken for granted that I should have known etc, and explained in such a thorough way that really took away any stress and anticipation I may have had. Top Gear School of Motoring is one I would recommend to a friend!"
